What a tragedy.
It is a sad day in baseball.
I too will pull for A-Rod.
Is 270 home runs too much to ask from him next year?
Probably so - but hopefully in 2012 or 2013, someone will be approaching 780 or 790 (which is probably where it stops) - he'll play next year to get 3000 hits and then be done, and will probably get to 780 or 790. I don't think he'd get to 800.
