For a few months, a demolition company has been taking down the old Wachovia Building which is caddycorner to the Plaza. It's not needed, since the merger with First Union and the transplant of employees up to 10th St.
Last week, we received a notice that Peachtree St. would be shut down Friday afternoon to prepare for the implosion Saturday.
We saw some sort of string quartet Friday afternoon playing somber music and doing what appeared to be some sort of mock funeral for the building.
Thankfully, quite a few people came into the building to tape the implosion Saturday morning - because I was not getting out of bed that early.

Don't say I never gave you nuthin'.
