At least with this emergency landing, no birds were involved. It may not be as dramatic as landing a full passenger plane safely on the Hudson river, but it still takes a good presence of mind to be able to pull off this sort of landing on a crowded road and have no one get hurt.
McCollum Airport is right next to our office. I drive this stretch of road quite often.
