Foot in mouth

OK, that sucked to watch.

Especially in the wake of earlier posts. At least I had the right number of OSU points.

The fumble on the 1-yard line was an absolute killer - it was a 14-point swing.

Not a happy night.

Grrrr.

At least it's not a conference loss.

I guess Ohio State deserves to be #1 right now after all. A tip of the hat for a well-played game on their part.

And good luck being the hunted instead of the hunter.

Alex watched until halftime, and went to sleep, but he did say he would like to play football with Bevo.

Can you say "OVERRATED?"

It's very rare that a team is dominant with a frosh QB. I'm surprised Mack Brown didn't develop someone behind Young last year knowing he'd leave early. He's paying for it now.

And was that was the feared Texas D? Oh well. Sorry to rub it in. I just like to see the #1 fall to open it up for others, like Florida, for example! ;) Texas had a good run though.

Two things:

1) Last year at this time, no one thought Young would leave early.

2) McCoy isn't a pure freshman - he was a redshirt last year, so presumably he's been learning things for the past season.

Oops.

Still disagree with the 1st statement, especially after seeing Young's win in Columbus exactly 1 year ago. His departure was as predictable as Mike Vick bolting VT early. Only surprising thing is that he didn't end up playing for the Texas...but that's their own fault!

As to the 2nd point, perhaps he was a redshirt. I dunno, so I'll take your word for it. But either way, he got zero game time last year. Watch how Urban Meyer works in frosh QB Tim Tebow this year even behind a legitimate Heisman candidate Chris Leak. (Tebow actually led the Gators in rushing on Sat!) Also how Richt will get both Stafford and Cox playing time regardless of Joe T's injury status. Those are good moves by great coaches. And that's why they work in the SEC, the best conference in America, and not a weak Big 12! ;-)

Speaking of SEC pride....next week...LSU v. Auburn and UF v. UT. Doesn't get better than that!

Last year, the SEC was definitely inferior. This year, superior.

If Texas had lost the Rose Bowl, Young would have returned. It wasn't until after they won that it was thought he would leave.

Next week will have some very good games. Too bad I'll be at a Habitat build all day.
